A lovely family-run hotel in a tranquil setting in the Santa Cruz highlands
Casa Natura is on Santa Cruz, the most populous of the Galapagos islands and site of the Charles Darwin Research Station. It has a rural setting in the highlands surrounded by trees, an ideal place to rest between trips to different areas of Santa Cruz and neighbouring island. The owners, Jonny and Jacqueline, live on site, and are often on hand to share their local knowledge and make their guests feel at home, and the colourful artworks and sculptures add a homely touch.
Days start with a complimentary breakfast, with many ingredients grown in the hotel’s grounds, which sets you up for excursions and activities, which include guided tours, cruises, kayaking, snorkelling and diving.
At the hotel there are plenty of communal spaces where you can socialise with other guests and enjoy the relaxed ambience. You are welcome to stroll around the garden and to follow the walking trail. Lunch and dinner can be provided on request.
The 14 guest rooms vary in size, accommodating between 2 and 4 people. They feature locally made furniture and have large windows making them light. Each has an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony with views of the highlands.
