What to pack

Maximum luggage is 20kgs, but we recommend you leave most of your luggage in Quito and take only what is necessary. Dress on yachts is always casual.

 You will need to take your passport with you.

Here is a list of what else you might like to take with you:

  • Toiletries and medications (inc. seasickness pills if required and insect repellent)
  • Small first aid kit
  • Good binoculars
  • Camera gear (a watertight camera is a good idea) plus plenty or film or memory cards etc
  • Two pairs of long cotton trousers and three pairs of shorts
  • T-shirts and long-sleeved cotton shirts
  • Sun hat (wide-brimmed) which won’t come off on boats
  • Sunglasses
  • High factor sunscreen
  • Swimwear and snorkelling gear (not essential as most yachts hold on board – please check with us if unsure)
  • Wading shoes/sandals (not flip flops as better with a strap)
  • Hiking boots/shoes and a hiking stick
  • Waterproof/windproof jacket and a jumper/fleece for evenings
  • Small torch (flashlight) or headtorch and batteries
  • Day pack and water bottle and plastic bags
