Galapagos Conservation Trust

The Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) is the only UK charity dedicated to working towards a sustainable future for the Galapagos Islands.

A message from our friends at the Galapagos Conservation Trust:

Supporting projects in the fields of science, education and culture since 1995, GCT has been working in programme areas including habitat restoration, invasive species management, sustainable development and education both locally in Galapagos and also in the UK.

Galapagos is not only a fascinating example of natural and social sciences in its own right, this special Archipelago also acts as a superb example of many of the global conservation challenges we are now facing. This adds an extra dimension to the need to conserve the islands. By following in Darwin’s footsteps, we can inspire the next generation of conservation ambassadors and make a real difference to the sustainable future of our planet.

From helping us to support vital research into conserving endangered, endemic species such as the Galapagos penguin and the mangrove finch (a critically endangered land bird with fewer than 20 breeding pairs left), to using Galapagos education resources in your classroom, there are many ways to support GCT.
