Why go

What makes Santa Fe special

Santa Fe's isolation, close to Santa Cruz yet never connected to it, has produced its own subspecies of land iguana found nowhere else. The giant prickly pear cactus here grow to genuine tree size, unlike anywhere else in the islands.

01

Santa Fe land iguanas

Paler and more distinctly patterned than their relatives elsewhere, and found only on this one island.

02

The giant cactus forest

Prickly pear cactus grow here to the size of proper trees, giving the island a strange, almost otherworldly look.

03

The turquoise bay

A sheltered, calm anchorage that is a lovely spot for snorkelling among reef fish, rays and the resident sea lion colony.
