South Plaza Island
A small island mostly famed for its incredible flora.South Plaza Island
North and South Plaza are islands just off the northeast coast of Santa Cruz. North Plaza does not have a landing site.

Cormorant Point
South Plaza is a (dry landing) site, and the dock is often strewn with a welcoming committee of sea lions. This place might be small at only about 100m2 but it is stuffed with natural gems – land iguanas, red-billed tropicbirds, Audubons’ shearwaters, swallow-tailed gulls, and of course sea lions.
The flora is special. Opuntia cactuses (prickly pears) give the height, whilst on the ground you find sesuvium, a succulent which will be bright green in the rainy season slowly changing to orange in the dry season (roughly July to January).
